Last week I went down the Corvallis area to meet up with Carol Savonen with the intention of gathering feedback and inspiration from an outside source. Carol is a naturalist, science writer and Associate Professor emeritus at Oregon State University. I had the opportunity to spend some time walking in the forest, looking and talking. We discussed ideas, talked about seeds and looked at my work. She provided insightful feedback, information and encouragement. It was refreshing to talk to someone outside of my community and to get out of the city for a bit.
Featured in the photo is Carol with some impressive Usnea- a lichen that is common in the Northwest.
